We will use them to support student enrichment programs at Duniway - STEM, math, reading and the arts - and to help teachers and staff have more uninterrupted student time. Every dollar we raise is critical to bridge gaps!

Funds raised this year will continue to support Outdoor School for future 5th grade classes, academic and enrichment programs, including art and Reading Results tutoring in partnership with the PTA, and important capital improvements such as auditorium updates and the plans for The Duniway Schoolyard Project, which will bring covered play spaces to students, and a lowered heat index.

a note about equity

The Duniway Foundation Board is looking forward to collaborating with the broader Portland Public School community as we work together to create district-wide funding strategies and goals over the course of this year.  In addition to the Fall Giving Campaign and the Duniway Auction, we encourage parents to also consider donating to the district-wide Fund for PPS here. While we recognize the importance of local giving and local community engagement, we ultimately believe that the best way to equitably fund schools is for the legislature to fully fund ALL Oregon schools. We plan to continue gathering information to determine our plan for this year and beyond, including meeting with district and school leaders to coordinate our planning, as well as advocating for full funding from the state legislature.
